Ivan McDonald was a brother of the founder of the Canadian Honeywell organization. He was the Central Region Sales Manager for a number of years. Ivan McDonald passed away September 1959. In 1959, Warren Douglas with the help of Bill Wright organized the first Memorial Bonspiel.

Win: 10 points Loss: 0 points Ends: 1 point
Blank Ends: 1⁄2 point each team
Rocks: 1⁄4 point each rock (max 3 points per game)
Ties: Play extra 1⁄2 end, 1 rock per player (rocks do not count for points)
Overall Standings: • Ties will be broken by:
1. Rocks not previously counted (>12 per game)
2. Total rocks against
Win all 3 games: 5 point bonus
