Welcome to the new Rouge Valley Curling Club Scoreboard! This interactive system allows you to track league standings, individual team game histories, and head-to-head analytics for both current and archived seasons.
Switching Seasons: Use the main dropdown menu at the top of the page to toggle between the Current Season and Historical Archive Seasons.
Viewing Team Details: Click directly on any Skip’s Name in the Standings or Teams list to open up their dedicated team profile dashboard.
Returning Home: Click the "← BACK TO TEAM LIST" button at the top left of any profile to return to the main hub.
Once you open a team's profile, you can toggle between two main views using the navigation buttons:
History Tab (Default): Displays the team's official roster alongside a chronological log of all completed season games, complete with color-coded results (Green for Wins, Red for Losses, Gray for Ties).
Analytics Tab: Displays an advanced scouting report tracking how this specific team performs matches specifically against every other skip in the league.
The Head-to-Head Analytics tab features custom smart-badges color-coded to highlight club strengths (Green) and areas for performance improvement (Orange). Here is what the metrics mean:
W - L - T (Win / Loss / Tie Record): The raw match outcomes exclusively against that specific opponent.
PF / PA (Points For vs. Points Against): > * Definition: Total rock points scored throughout the season against this opponent vs. total points given up to them.
The Threshold: Automatically turns Green if the team has a positive point differential (Scored more than conceded), and Orange if they are giving up more points than they take.
Hammer Wins (Last Rock Efficiency):
Definition: Stored as a fraction (e.g., 2/3). The second number is how many times this team played as the designated "Home" team (started Game 1 with the last rock advantage). The first number is how many of those specific games they successfully converted into an official victory.
The Threshold: Automatically turns Green if the team successfully defends and wins more than 50% of their games with the Hammer advantage.
Located immediately underneath the Skip's name in the main profile header, these black badge indicators track historic legacy using data compiled from the Archive GameResults:
Skip Debut: Tracks the exact first season year the member was registered and played as a designated Skip at RVCC.
Career Skip Win %: The calculated winning percentage across all available historical archive games played explicitly as a Skip. Brand new skips defaults to a fresh 100% start baseline.
Q: Why are some of my team's games not showing up in the History tab? A: The scoreboard only processes and logs games that have been officially played and had their scores entered into the master draw system by the drawmaster. Unplayed games, upcoming draws, or matches with missing scores will not appear in the logs or affect analytics.
Q: What exactly does "Hammer Wins" mean? A: In curling, the "Hammer" is the last-rock advantage in the first end. In our scoreboard database, the team listed as the "Home" team is designated as starting with the Hammer. The Hammer Wins stat calculates how efficiently a skip converts that vital last-rock starting advantage into a full-game victory against a specific opponent.
Q: How often is the scoreboard data updated? A: The system reads directly from the central RVCC database. As soon as the drawmaster updates a score or registers a roster adjustment in the master sheets, the changes will instantly reflect on the scoreboard web app the next time you open or refresh the page.
Q: How far back does the Archive go? A: The historical dropdown menu compiles records for all seasons currently preserved within the RVCC Archive Database. If a player or skip didn't play in a specific historical season, they simply won't have a record listed for that target year.
Q: Why does a veteran Skip show "Skip Debut: This Season" or a "100% Career Win %"? A: The "Skip Debut" and "Career Win %" badges are calculated strictly from the available data inside our Archive GameResults sheet. If a member is skipping a team for the first time since our digital archiving system was implemented, the system welcomes them with a fresh, undefeated baseline tracking layout!
